More than 180 female filmmakers are slated to participate at the 6th International Urban Film Festival in Iran.
Around 15 percent of the 1600 submissions for the sixth edition of the festival are the works made by women.
In the current edition of Urban Film Festival, more than 180 female filmmakers have requested to participate at the various sections, including feature films, long documentaries, short documentaries, short films and animations.
Pouran Derakhshandeh, Narges Abyar, Tina Pakravan, Negar Azarbaijani, Monir Qeidi, Marjan Ashrafizadeh, Soheila Golestani, and Gahzaleh Soltani are among the famous filmmakers that registered for the festival.
The International Urban Film Festival’s main focus is on the significance of city and urbanism in human life.
The event also seeks to promote empathy and moral values in cinematic works and offers a platform for exchange of ideas and experiences among the cities of the world.
The 6th year of the event will be held from July 31 to August 5, 2017 in Tehran.
